The object
I measured every pot in my apartment before settling on this size, which given the plant situation was a genuinely long afternoon. It holds a standard nursery pot without you needing to repot anything — the plastic one your plant came home in will sit in here fine.
Materials
Undyed 4mm cotton rope, solid brass ring
Process
Four strands, gathered and wrapped at the top, with a square-knot basket at the base. The brass ring is a real ring rather than a knotted loop, because rope on rope wears through eventually and a hanging plant is not the thing you want to learn that from.
